Substance Abuse Counselor

Rita Grande, AA, AS, CADC Intern

I have worked in the field of addiction, mental health and behavioral health for the last 7 years. I have experience working in adult residential, adult detox, long term adolescent and outpatient. I am currently an addictions counselor at High Point. I myself have been in recovery for the last 12 years. I hold a degree in criminal justice and another in addictions counseling. I use various approaches to helping my clients that incorporate a culmination of methods both common and uncommon. I believe that each client is an individual with individual needs and that means tailoring the client’s treatment to what is going to work for them on a wholeness level. Outside of High Point I am currently the president of a nonprofit youth sports organization that I started in 2020. I am also a softball sports director and softball coach for the last 8 years.

Raider and Mona

This is Raider and I dressed for the Army/Navy game. We root for Navy since our son graduated from the US Naval Academy. Go Navy, beat Army! Raider loves to hike off leash every day with us. She’s a great traveler and adapts to any new situation quite well. She loves to chase her big blue ball in our back yard and would do it all day long if we let her but the old people need to rest occasionally! I like to cook, bake, read and do some traveling. I love spending time with family and friends. Both Raider and I are enjoying our therapy dog visitations and meeting new friends!
